Losing Ingrid

I'm not waiting for her anymore. BIG BIG problems with the paperwork that have marred this case almost from the beginning. I'm now trying to deal with the reality that Ingrid will never be my daughter.

Yeah

It's me.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. So so so so so proud of you. I was shocked b/c when we emailed last year you said you weren't interested in talking to Benita. I'm so glad you did. You did AWESOME. I can't imagine what you've been through - but you did a good thing. SO PROUD of you Stacy.

Why are you apologizing for telling the truth?

    Good for you.

Why would you have offended anyone? You told the truth. You got hurt, Ingrid got hurt, many others got hurt. It's awful and I am glad he is exposed. I hate these shows that show Guatemalan adoptions in a bad light, but your story deserved to get out.

I used to read your blog a lot but mostly lurked. I thought you did a great job! You told the truth! That man needs to go down for the pain he has caused you and so many people. I hope this will help you to heal Stacy. I will miss your blogging. Take care.

Offended? Who would be offended? I couldn't believe it when I saw you - I was so proud of you for telling your story! Awesome!

Stacy - I am proud of you! I think you looked so good on there :) Plus I am double proud that you care so much about not offending others or making them feel bad. You have nothing to apologize for, but we could all learn a lesson from your sensitivity to others :)

NEVER apologize!! You told the truth, and that's what matters. You didn't offend anyone that knows the truth. If anyone was offended, then too bad. I think you did an AMAZING thing.

Thank you for having the courage to stand up for so many who don't have that courage. I hope that you can finally find peace.

Stacy - so glad you spoke out about this! You are so brave! We also used Adoption Partners for our adoption and "T" was our facilitator. I can't believe that we fell for all of their garbage.I'm so embarrassed for having been associated with them. Our process did end in bringing home our daughter thank goodness, but you never know how differently things could have ended up with all of the lies. I was nodding my head when I read a line about Joanne not wanting her clients to do research on the web (ie. adoption.com).She is always so paranoid about people finding out how horrible her agency is. The little that I dealt with her, I couldn't stand her. I can't believe that she is still allowed to operate in any form. Something needs to be done so that she is never involved in another adoption. I hope this story will change things.

Oh, my gosh! I didn't get to watch the show. I've got to get a tape of it!

I can't see that you have a thing to apologize for. I only hope that telling your story is one more step to moving on to motherhood for you. Best of luck as you continue on.

You are so nice to think about the pics - someone actually passed them to me several months ago in a Snapfish account so that I could get prints :)

Stacy, I want to throw you a ticker tape parade for your courage and your strength and honesty to protect other adoptive families.

If anyone is offended, send them to me and I'll tell them off for you.

I hope someone sues the snot out of any agency using this banned facilitator. Waiting Angels got sued. Maybe a few more lawsuits is enough to get Teo out of GT adoptions for good.

    Signed,

a defrauded domestic PAP who cares.

When I watched Dateline last night, I thought your story seemed familiar. I came to your blog and you had confirmed it. I think you should not be sorry for standing up and telling the truth. I wish they would of told more of your story. I also wish they would of put Joanne in the hot seat like they did T. I think it's just as much her responsibility as his. IMHO.

You should be VERY proud of yourself!!

I didn't see the Dateline story, but my goodness, if anyone's story deserved to be told, it is yours. Good for you!!

Stacy, I've said it to you privately, but I want to say it here too... I admire you for being COURAGEOUS enough to tell your story publically.

I do believe that MOST Guatemalan adoption agencies, facilitators, and lawyers ARE ethical and MOST adoptions cases are free from corruption. Tragically there are also a handful of despicable characters who will do ANYTHING for a few extra dollars in their pockets – with no thought to the children, the birth families, the prospective adoptive parents, or the perception of Guatemalan adoptees in general.

The BEST, if not the ONLY, way to clear the adoption system of these reprehensible con artists is to EXPOSE them. But that takes a lot of guts.

All of us who have, or want to have, and ethical adoption owe you and the other families our sincere gratitude.

You have guts, no need to apologize.

I'm blogging my thoughts about the dateline story and related issues. May I post a link to direct people to your blog?
I'll understand if you prefer not, but I'd love for people to hear your story.
